Welcome to Tailored Tutoring Solutions!

We focus on providing the student with what they need to succeed.  If the student is struggling, we will help them regardless of whether or not they have a diagnosis.  Lessons can be done online or in person, depending on the tutor's availability.  .

Subjects We Can Teach

The Orton-Gillingham principles can be applied to the subjects of Phonological Awareness, Reading, Spelling, Written Expression, Comprehension, Morphology, and Math (grades 1-6), so we can provide instruction in all of these areas.

Wait! There's More!

Whether you have a child who needs tutoring, or whether you're an adult who is wanting to improve some skills, we are experienced in helping.  Contact us to see how we can help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at lynettesleonard@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

In the first session, a brief amount of time will be spent getting to know the student so they are comfortable.  We will explain how the English Language is structured so students will have a better understanding of what they will be learning.  Then an assessment will be given to the student to determine what the student already knows and what they need to know.  From there, lessons will be structured to meet the specific needs of the student.  For math tutoring, an assessment will also be given to find the gaps in foundational math skills.

A multi-sensory approach to any subject  works with  everyone.  It uses the 3 learning pathways which are the Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic.  Using all  three pathways simultaneously reaches students with a variety of strengths and weaknesses.

Motivation on the part of the student can play an important role in this, however, because every child/adult has different needs, the length of tutoring can range anywhere from one year, or less, to sometimes even 4 years.  We will move our lessons along as fast as we can, but as slow as is necessary.  The decision to stop tutoring is decided by the adult individual or the parent/guardian of the child.

At least twice a week for 50 to 60 minutes each session is required.  Adequate growth won't be made with only one session a week.
